Methodology

EVIDENCE, NOT VERDICTS.

“LOTUS does not decide whether a token is safe. It shows the evidence behind the story so you can make your own assessment.”

NARRATIVE ORIGIN

We look for the earliest post, meme, video or real-world event that a token references, then compare its timestamp to the pair creation time. When the earliest record cannot be established from available sources, the origin is reported as inferred or insufficient rather than assumed.

TOKEN MATCHING

A story can be attached to many contracts. We compare token name, symbol, image and description against the original reference, and search for other pairs using the same material. Where several contracts compete, we show them side by side instead of naming a single official one.

SOCIAL MOMENTUM

Mentions are counted over 1h, 6h and 24h windows, alongside the number of unique accounts producing them. Direction matters more than absolute volume: a narrative can be large and declining, or small and accelerating.

MARKET CONFIRMATION

Social movement is compared against volume, price change, buy/sell balance and liquidity direction. Agreement raises confidence; divergence is reported plainly, for example when attention grows far faster than participation.

AUTHENTICITY

We report observable properties: share of unique accounts, repeated wording, account age distribution and how concentrated amplification is. These are signals, not verdicts. We do not label activity as automated unless the underlying data supports that specific claim.

CONTRADICTIONS

Anything that conflicts with the dominant framing is surfaced: competing tokens, launches that precede the claimed event, endorsement claims with no matching source, and promotion concentrated in a few hands.

CONFIDENCE

Every claim carries one of five labels, and every claim links to the source behind it. Missing data is stated as missing — it is never smoothed into a score.

Confidence levels

FIVE LABELS, NO SCORE

  • ConfirmedDirectly supported by a retrievable source.
  • LikelySupported by consistent indirect evidence.
  • UnconfirmedPlausible, but no supporting source was retrieved.
  • ConflictingSources disagree, or signals point in opposite directions.
  • Insufficient dataNot enough data was available to assess the claim.
Limits

WHAT THIS TOOL CANNOT DO

  • It cannot tell you whether to buy or sell, and contains no trading or wallet features.
  • It cannot see private conversations or deleted posts.
  • It cannot prove intent — only what sources show and when they showed it.
  • It cannot measure social mention volume unless a social data source is connected — those fields stay marked as insufficient data.
